The Cleared Sky
When the deep copper veil of an eclipse passes, the night sky does not return to ordinary dark; it feels cleansed, re-centered, and profoundly quiet.
High on the Appalachian ridge at 1,600 feet elevation, the midnight clouds part to reveal a wash of cool, unrestrained silver starlight. The northern hemlocks stand like ancient sentinels along the forest border, their boughs catching the damp night breeze.
In the wake of great celestial alignments, human striving falls away. What remains is the fundamental truth of the hearth: warmth within, peace at the perimeter, and gratitude for the living ground beneath our feet.

[Hemlocks Guarding] [Hearth Fire Abiding]
[The Forest Border] [Unbroken Night Rest]
Verse for the High Ridge
Recited under the parting clouds as the silver light pours down:
Under the veil of Máni’s hidden copper shield,
Where night winds sweep over high ridge and field,
May peace hold this sanctuary, quiet and deep,
While hemlocks stand guard and the creatures sleep.By the strength of the Oak and the pulse of the Land,
May rest restore spirit, and wisdom guide hand.
Restorers of Ruin, ancestral and strong,
Be blessed in your hearth-fire, your dwelling, and song.To all who walk between water and ridge,
Be health in your breathing and strength on each bridge.
As clouds clear at midnight and silver light pours,
May grace, peace, and power abide at your doors.
